On July 30th I had the opportunity to second shoot for Suzanne Garland Photography. We connected in the Rising Tide Society Facebook group. Suzanne is an amazing photographer and she was traveling to Columbus, Ohio to shoot a wedding and was looking for a second shooter. I was so happy to be able to come along and help her out!
We started off the day at the Westin hotel in downtown Columbus capturing Abby and the girls getting ready.
Abby wore a beautiful strapless sweetheart neck dress and the bridesmaids were in neutral beige floor length dresses with varying necklines. Trent and the groomsmen wore navy blue Ralph Lauren suits. The bouquets added a pop of blush pink.
Trent and Abby chose not to do a first look so then everyone headed off to the catholic church for the ceremony. After they were wed we went to the Ohio Statehouse to take wedding party photos and bride and groom portraits. This was my first time shooting at the statehouse and it’s a new favorite location for me. I can’t wait to go back! After the statehouse we stopped at the Main Street Bridge over the Scioto River to take a few fun photos with the wedding party.
We ended the night back at the Westin for the cocktail hour and the reception. The Grand Ballroom was decorated beautifully. The color palette of the day was carried throughout the space. The floral centerpieces were a mix of low and tall arrangments made up of peachy pink and white flowers and the table numbers were gold. The gold chiavari chairs really tied everything together. The Westin’s Grand Ballroom is so pretty with the marble floors, mirrored walls, and stained glass windows that you don’t even need to decorate it much. It’s beautiful all on it’s own but the decor worked perfectly to enhance the beauty of the space.
I hope you enjoy my favorites from this classic and elegant wedding below!
